Autumn 2023-?
I want to remember deeply.
A bit-a-go I had to bring in a box of old photos and notes from our detached shop because it was too humid. Warped lumber in direct contact to the Pacific Northwest wet. The enameled pink cardboard box had must and mildew, so I pulled everything out onto the kitchen counters.
I realized I could time travel.
With every smelly crumpled-up note and glossy 4x6 backed with a dusty loop of scotch tape, I could feel an intense emotional sensual memory filled with thousands of words and facial expressions. Tingles of energy transported me to a different version of this being I occupy.
So I guess I’m doing it for the thrill.
Because you need a map to travel time, or at least a set of clues.
Photography is second nature to me, practicing it is a deeply rooted enjoyment that feels innate to my spirit. Writing has been something I’ve only really used to detangle my thoughts. Scribbles in books I keep under energetic lock and key.
It’s been a trip so far writing about this maiden-to-mother shift, processing my human experience through art. Welcome.
